The Best Design

Out of all of my designs I feel the centered Conquer on the blue background, and the Green and Red stair step design do the best to illustrate the definition of the word. The use of the orange C in the blue design creates a pop between foreground and background, and forces the C to jump forth along with the darker pink letters, and create a sense of weightiness, which adds to the sense of the definition. In a similar way the placement of the letters in the center of the design helps intensify this weightiness.  The use of color in the stair step design also creates a recession of space by opposing the usual rules of atmospheric perspective. The stairs change from a hue of green at the bottom to the fully saturated color at the top. The placement of the colored blocks also adds to the definition of the word, by visualized the sense of conquering a mountain, or hard to reach objective.
